Loads of people were duped by this too good to be true Oxegen 2015 poster
LOOKS LIKE IT’S that time of the year again…
Last summer, MCD confirmed that Oxegen was no more, stating that the festival was “no longer viable” in its current form.
So when a page called Oxegen 2015 popped up on Facebook, it understandably piqued some people’s interest.
Over the weekend, the page shared this image announcing the return of the long-running music festival and details of headliners including heavy hitters like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and The Strokes.

People could scarcely believe their eyes.
Whoops!

On Friday, the page posted another image purporting to show new additions to the line-up. (Remember The Kooks?)
Hundreds of people liked and shared the images, but sadly it appears to be a big fat fake.
The page in question bears no relation to the official Oxegen page, which continues to live on Facebook and hasn’t posted anything since August 2014.
The fake Oxegen line-up definitely caught some people out, too.
Some people questioned who would do such a thing.
Whoops!

While others were utterly devastated.
